3. What type of ceilings can the system be mounted to?

Almost any type of ceiling structure can be used to support a Tracam® system. Structural rigidity I obtained from the roofing supports (red iron) or next story floor structure.

Please obtain engineering advice if you have any concerns.

4. What is the voltage of the track rails?

36vDC on the track rails. The system will operate with a track voltage between 20 and 40vDC.

5. What is the strength of the cowling?

The cowling substrate is a PETG or polycarbonate sheet. Both satisfy standards set by UL.

Polycarbonate - Impact tested to standard DIN 53453; Tension strength tested to 60N/mm2 (standard 53455).

6. Can the camera be seen through the cowling?

The camera (VTU) typically cannot be seen but this is dependant on the lighting conditions and installation design.

7. What effect does the tinted cowling have on the camera performance?

The effect will vary according to lighting conditions and the type of camera specified. The light tint will cause a 1 f stop reduction and the dark tint 2 f stops.

8. Is it easy to access the VTU after it has been installed?

Yes. The cowling can be released on one side by popping the side clip and it will hang in position while maintenance is performed.

9. Can the system be used externally?

No. the system is designed for internal use only (but keep an eye on "What's New")

10. Can the system go up/down inclines?

Tracam® can climb slight inclines, with reduced speed up the inclines.

11. Can the system be mounted vertically?

No.

5. Is pan and tilt variable speed?

Yes.

6. What is the maximum Pan and Tilt speed?

Pan 220 degrees per second

Tilt 60 degrees per second

Speed may vary slightly dependent on the dome camera used

7. What is the image quality of the video?

High resolution video in PAL and NTSC formats (more than 450 lines).

8. Does the system have auto focus cameras/lenses?

Yes.

9. What type of camera can be installed?

American Dynamics, Panasonic speed domes - more to come.

10. Is there any operational noise?

The system is very quiet but there is some motor/mechanical noise. This may or may not be discernible, dependent upon the location and the distance from the track to the floor.

11. How many VTUs can be mounted on the track?

Usually one, but the Mult-T-Cam® system allows up to 3 VTUs to be mounted on the one track.
